The film premiered in New York and Los Angeles for a limited release on April 15, 2011, then went into wide release in the United States and Canada on April 22, 2011. It received mixed to positive reviews from film critics; it garnered a “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes based upon aggregated reviews, and a rating of “mixed or average reviews” at Metacritic.

I remember watching this years ago when everyone was going through that Twilight phase and obsessed with Robert!

I was team Edward 😉

This lead my mum on to buy this movie on dvd. At first, i wasn’t so intrigued as i wasn’t a huge fan of Twilight and hadn’t heard too much about this movie.
However, when we sat down to watch it, i found this to be a really beautiful and moving film.

The romantic storyline was a change from what i usually see in romance movies, and the aspect of the circus was really exciting to watch!
This is an emotional movie, but it’s also a chill and feel good one (it’s not too intense or mind blowing or anything).

Would recommend for adults and teenagers!

Lion King 2 Movie Review

Lion King 2

The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (later retitled The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride) is a 1998 American animated direct-to-video romantic musical film and a sequel to Disney’s 1994 animated feature film, The Lion King. The story takes place in a kingdom of lions in Africa and was influenced by William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. According to co-director Darrell Rooney, the final draft gradually became a variation of Romeo and Juliet.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Australia and released on October 27, 1998, the film centers on Simba and Nala’s daughter Kiara, who falls in love with Kovu, a male rogue lion from a banished pride that was once loyal to Simba’s evil uncle, Scar. Separated by Simba’s prejudice against the banished pride and a vindictive plot planned by Kovu’s mother Zira, Kiara and Kovu struggle to unite their estranged prides and be together.

Most of the original cast returned to their roles from the first film, apart from Rowan Atkinson, who was replaced by Edward Hibbert as the voice of Zazu for this film and its prequel/sequel, The Lion King 1½ and Jeremy Irons, who was briefly replaced by Jim Cummings as the voice of Scar.

We all know that Lion King is by far one of Disney’s best ever movies. The music, the landscape, the characters, the story: a classic!

Usually sequels, especially Disney sequels, don’t play out as well as the first.

…. i wish i could say ‘but’, BUT this was exactly the case for the Lion King.

The first one had the material to be a classic, but i feel like the second one was more for fun and just to carry on bringing to life the characters and this amazing story.

The second one is definitely funnier than the first one! Its more humours and laid back. Lion King 2 is very family friendly, but i would say it’s more for children to enjoy by themselves, rather than the whole family watching it together.

Mr Bean’s Holiday Movie Review

Mr Bean’s Holiday

Mr. Bean’s Holiday is a 2007 British comedy film, directed by Steve Bendelack, music composed by Howard Goodall, produced by Peter Bennett-Jones, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, written by Hamish McColl and Robin Driscoll and starring Rowan Atkinson, Max Baldry, Emma de Caunes and Willem Dafoe. It is the second film based on the television series Mr. Bean, following the 1997 Bean.

This is the funniest film i’ve ever seen! Such a great laugh for the family. You can never go wrong with watching Mr Bean!

In this Mr Bean Movie, Rowan Atkinson is perfect at portraying this character as he wins a trip to France. It sounds all great, but obviously everything goes wrong; which is really entertaining (sometimes stressful) all the way through.

Everyone should see this light hearted, hilarious movie! It gives a really good summer feel.

Coraline Movie Review

Coraline is a 2009 American 3D stop-motion dark fantasy horror film based on Neil Gaiman’s 2002 novel of the same name. It was the first feature film produced by Laika and distributed by Focus Features. The film depicts an adventurous girl finding an idealized parallel world behind a secret door in her new home, unaware that the alternate world contains a dark and sinister secret. Written and directed by Henry Selick, the film was made with Gaiman’s approval and co-operation. The titular character’s name came from a typo in “Caroline”. According to Gaiman, “I had typed the name Caroline, and it came out wrong. I looked at the word Coraline, and knew it was someone’s name. I wanted to know what happened to her.”

The film was released in United States theaters on February 6, 2009, after a world premiere at the Portland International Film Festival, and received positive reviews from critics. The film made $16.85 million during opening weekend, ranking third at the box office.[8] At the end of its box office run, the film had grossed over $124 million worldwide. Coraline won Annie Awards for best music, character design, production design and received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Animated Feature.

I love this film so much. Tim Burton films have always been exciting and imaginative. This was a really unique and creative movie. The storyline is intriguing all the way through, with some scary moments too! I love character Coraline and the cat 😉

The arty aspect and cool characters was really inspirational for my generation!

Definitely a great family film or alone film or with friends film or with your pet film 😀

Disney Cars Movie Review

Cars is a 2006 American computer-animated comedy-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed and co-written by John Lasseter, it is Pixar’s final independently-produced motion picture before its purchase by Disney in May 2006. Set in a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic cars and other vehicles, the film stars the voices of Owen Wilson, Paul Newman (in his final acting role), Bonnie Hunt, Larry the Cable Guy, Tony Shalhoub, Cheech Marin, Michael Wallis, George Carlin, Paul Dooley, Jenifer Lewis, Guido Quaroni, Michael Keaton, Katherine Helmond and John Ratzenberger. Race car drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Mario Andretti, Michael Schumacher and car enthusiast Jay Leno (as “Jay Limo”) voice themselves.

Cars premiered on May 26, 2006 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, and was theatrically released on June 9, 2006 to mostly positive reviews from critics. It was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Animated Feature, and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film. The film was released on DVD on November 7, 2006 and on Blu-ray in 2007. The film was accompanied by the short One Man Band for its theatrical and home media releases. Merchandise based on the film (including scale models of several of the cars) broke records for retail sales of merchandise based on a Disney/Pixar film, bringing an estimated $10 billion for 5 years after the film’s release. The film was dedicated to Joe Ranft, who was killed in a car accident during the film’s production.

A sequel, titled Cars 2, was released on June 24, 2011, and a spin-off film titled Planes, produced by DisneyToon Studios, was released on August 9, 2013,which was followed by its own sequel, Planes: Fire & Rescue, released on July 18, 2014. A series of short animated films titled Cars Toons debuted in 2008 on Disney Channel and Disney XD.[6] A second sequel, Cars 3, was released on June 16, 2017.

OMG! This was definitely one of my favourite films when i was a child. I was used tow watching the good old disney and dreamwork animate movies, but i remember this one being new and exciting for us children to watch!

It steps away from the traditional disney fairy tales and into something, less magical, but awesome 😉

This film is very family friendly and has a great plot line with moving and funny parts! The humour in this movie is great. Even as a 19 year old, i would consider watching this movie while having a movie night or something!

The two sequels aren’t as good as this classic, but they’re worth watching to carry on enjoying these funny characters ( which are cars) 🙂

This is really the best marvel film i’ve seen! I’m not usually into the super hero stuff, but this movie was exceptional!

The plot, the effects, the acting, the music: everything was great!

Everyone who loves action and politics will enjoy this movie! Would work as a great family film too!
